Bolivian Dove Shooting

Dove Hunting in Bolivia!

 MG 5370

Bolivia has some of the finest high volume dove hunting in the world, accompanied by world class cuisine and accommodations. Eared Doves make the shooting a good as any destination in the world. Discover one of South America’s best kept secrets in the Chaco Plains, where you’ll find world-class dove shooting, luxurious accommodations and superb cuisine.

Wing shooters are coming home from Bolivia with wild stories about not only how many birds they saw and how big those dove clouds were, they’re also bragging about how many boxes of shells they shot. You’ll shoot until you’re totally satisfied and begin to wonder how big your shell bill is going to be!

The massive dove volume is due to Gran Chaco, a vast flat area that extends from northern Argentina to southern Brazil. There is ample areas for roosting and grain fields for feed, the populations show it, food for the birds is everywhere!

The owner/operator has vast dove outfitting experience – giving access to many different shooting venues, where a shooter can excel with a high shot to kill ratio. Or he can place you and your group of hunters in a more sporting locale where the shooting is still high-volume while increasing the difficulty. Shooting on this level may not be found anywhere else… is truly a high volume shoot of the highest order.

One of the things DCA loves most about our Bolivian operation is the attention to detail at the lodge; from sheets and pillow cases to ambience and beverages. No expense has been spared, there’s even a brewery on the property!

With two lodges, we can accommodate up to 37 shooters, through two lodges. The original lodge was built in 2002 and consists of 12 double rooms with one dedicated massage room, the newer lodge was built in 2014 and has 7 single king rooms and 4 double occupancy queen rooms with a huge entertainment room, plus two massage rooms! Both lodges have pools, hot tubs, air conditioning, all the fineries that one would expect at a full-service lodge. Styled after a fine Bolivian Hacienda. Your Bolivian dove hunt is only half of the trip, while your stay at lodge is every bit as important. Did we mention there is a brewery in between the lodges? Other amenities include a Suana, Bar, jacuzzi, steam room, and two massage rooms!

The food is prepared by a highly-trained chef who wow’s with fine meats, salads, and mouthwatering deserts. There is more than likely one or several recipes you’ll be asking for.

Season: March 20th - October 31st

The eared dove, Zeniada Auriculata, is a prolific breeder laying several broods throughout the year, with two eggs per brood.

  • A typical day starts at 5:30 am with the first breakfast and shooting starts at 6:30 AM going until 9:30AM dove hunters return back to the lodge for a second breakfast! Lunch starts around 1:00 with the afternoon hunt starting at 2:30 pm continueing till 6:15 pm. Dinner around 7:30.

The hunter will be seeing a dove that is somewhat migratory, your hunt will take place any direction from the lodge but rarely further than 45 minutes. Roughly five million acres of soy bean, wheat, sorghum, millet, corn, sunflowers, peanuts etc. attract an annual migration of around 50 million doves to the Bolivia. Dove hunts will take place in and around these agricultural areas. Hunters shoot morning and afternoon with a nice barbeque lunch either at the lodge or in the field. We can customize your trip to suit your own itinerary whether 4 days or a whole week. Shooting starts around 9:00 am every morning, lunch is almost always around noon. With Dove shooting starting again around 1:00 every afternoon with return to the lodge in the late afternoon. Being a full-service lodge, shooting can start when you’d like and end when you’d like. Truly high-volume shooting, with a certain Bolivian flare that is second to none.

Just a 6.5 hour flight from most of the larger southern U.S. airports, it’s closer than many destinations. Upon arrival in Santa Cruz one of our agents will meet you inside customs and will assist our customers with gun registration, and customs. Giving our customers piece of mind we have several agents in Santa Cruz. The flight schedules sometimes require and overnight stay in Santa Cruz, with a departure the next morning for the lodge.

The lodges are both 90 minutes from Santa Cruz, one of our professional agents or a representative from the lodge will meet you to transfer to the lodge. A scenic drive over good roads.

After the shooting is over, an agent will transfer your group to Santa Cruz for the departing flight.
